About this site
YourBikeBuilder is an independent bicycle-planning website. You can contact the site operator or ask a privacy question through the Contact page. The Builder helps you plan a bicycle; it does not create an account or synchronize your Builds between devices.
Builds stored in your browser
My Builds saves your named Builds in this browser’s local storage. A Build can contain your riding answers, height, component choices, selected products, specifications, notes and up to eight earlier versions. The workspace also uses temporary browser session storage and a URL fragment for navigation, such as the Build ID and current view. The URL does not contain your full answers or body measurements.
These saved Builds are not synchronized to an account. You can delete a Build in My Builds or clear this site’s browser data. Clearing site data, changing browsers or moving devices can remove access to Builds stored there. Export a backup first if you want to keep them. A browser’s private mode and storage settings may also affect how long they remain available.
Optional fit and body information
If you enter fit information, a Build may include height, inseam, torso and arm length, shoulder width, bike-fit positions and details of a reference bicycle. This information is stored with the local Build and its saved versions. You can leave optional fit fields unanswered. A public share or print summary omits body measurements and private notes.
Backup files and imports
Export backup creates a downloadable .ybb JSON file with the Build’s name and identity, choices, selected products and version history. By default, the export excludes height and optional body and bike-fit measurements from both the current Build and its earlier versions. You can deliberately select the fit-information checkbox to include them. The export screen states which choice applies. Names, notes, product choices and other Build details in the file may still be personal to you, so review the backup text before sharing it and keep the file where you choose.
Import build reads a file or pasted backup in your browser and adds an independent local Build after validation. It does not overwrite your existing active Build. An older compatible backup can contain fit information if it was exported with that option. Exported files and imported text are under your control; the Builder does not upload them as part of this import or export flow.
Contact form
If you send the Contact form, it collects the name, email address and message you provide and sends them to the site operator by email so we can respond. The form uses a hidden anti-spam field, a security token and a short-lived limit based on a hash of the submitting IP address to reduce repeated submissions. Email systems, hosting and security services may process or retain messages and technical request data. Their retention settings have not been verified here, so we do not promise a specific deletion period.
Cookies, analytics and external services
The website uses browser storage to remember your theme and analytics choice. The Cookie Settings control in the footer reopens the consent interface. The site’s Google Analytics script is configured to load after you choose Accept analytics, including on later visits while that choice is saved. Choosing Necessary only keeps that script off. You can revisit this choice. Other site services may use cookies or browser storage; their retention settings have not been verified.
Google Fonts and some product images are loaded from external services independently of the analytics choice. Their providers and the hosting service may receive technical request data, such as your IP address and browser information. Product cards may link to a retailer, and the footer links to Instagram and Facebook. Following a link takes you to another service with its own privacy practices. Current retailer links are ordinary outbound links; the Builder does not currently add an affiliate identifier to them.
Your choices and questions
You can remove individual Builds in My Builds, clear this site’s browser storage in your browser, and revisit consent choices through Cookie Settings in the footer. Clearing browser data also removes the locally saved consent choice and Builds. For a question about a Contact message or this policy, use the Contact page.
